Men's League

Schedule:  Men’s league will begin on April 16^th, at 4:00pm and continue on Wednesdays for 17 sessions through August 13.   Starting on August 20^nd we will begin single elimination playoffs that will finish on September 17^th.

Time:  We will run tee times off of both #1 & #10 tees.  We ask that teams sign up for the Early Flight (4pm start) or the Late Flight (5pm start).  Please arrive early to get checked in, get your clubs loaded on to your assigned cart and grab a quick bite to eat.  We expect all players to be ready for their assigned tee time.  Any team arriving over five minutes late to the tee will forfeit that hole for the team. If a player is late more than 5 minutes, his partner’s score will be used as the team score.

Format:  The four-ball format will match 2 person teams, playing their best net score. There are 4 possible points each week.  There will be 3 - three hole matches.  Each match will be good for 1 point; totaling 3 possible points for 9-holes.  The fourth point will be given to the team with the lowest net score for the 9-holes.  An example of a way to win a point for your team is by a player shooting a lower net score on two out of the 3-holes. If the holes are spilt then a ½ of a point will be given to each team.  If a player can not attend a match they can get a substitute player; or the team can be represented by one player’s net score. 

Fees:  The $30 entrance fee is divided up between your 9-hole handicap fee and prize money.  Each night we will collect $4.00 per player for prizes (weekly and season ending) plus golf fees.  Members  $20 to Ride, Preakness Card Holders play for $25 to ride and public players  $30 to ride.  Prize money will be divided between weekly prizes and season ending banquet and prizes.  Weekly prizes will be awarded to teams with the lowest combined net score.  The season ending prizes will be awarded to the teams with the highest point totals. We are planning on handing out over $6,000 in gift certificates throughout the year.

Handicaps:  We will play our format using gross scores to determine winners for the first week in order to attain your handicap.  However your handicap will fluctuate through out the season based on your scores.  A substitute without a verified handicap will get a handicap after your round of 80% of their strokes above par. Substitutes playing more than 2 times will be required to join our league with the $30 handicap fee. As well as dividing the groups by start times, we will flight the playoffs by team handicap.   

Rules:  USGA rules for match play govern all play.  Your scorecard must note the hole that you started on as well as your GROSS and NET scores for each hole.  Please total your scores, have players from both teams sign the scorecard to attest for the scores and turn the scorecard into the pro shop after you complete your round. 

Weather: All decisions to cancel play will be made at 4:00 pm on each Wednesday.  If weather forces us to cancel play before all rounds can complete 3 holes than we will reschedule that match.  If all matches complete at least 3 holes we will then award any points earned and that match will count.
